The Manhattan has long been the gold standard of timeless cocktails—smooth, balanced, and endlessly sophisticated. This elevated version introduces Levels of Grandeur Cassia Burnt Sugar Syrup, a rich infusion that lends notes of warm spice and caramelized depth. Perfect for evenings that call for a touch of drama in your glass.
Ingredients
-
2 oz high-quality bourbon or rye whiskey
-
1 oz sweet vermouth
-
½ oz Levels of Grandeur Cassia Burnt Sugar Syrup
-
2 dashes Angostura bitters
-
Ice
-
Orange peel or Luxardo cherry, for garnish
Directions
Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for 5 minutes. A properly chilled glass enhances the cocktail’s velvety finish.
In a mixing glass, add bourbon, sweet vermouth, and Cassia Burnt Sugar Syrup. The syrup’s toasted sugar and cassia bark undertones weave complexity into the classic base.
Add two dashes of Angostura bitters. This ensures the sweetness of the syrup and vermouth stays in check with subtle herbal depth.
Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir for 20–25 seconds until the cocktail is silky and ice-cold. Stirring—not shaking—maintains clarity and refinement.
Strain into your chilled coupe or martini glass. Garnish with an expressed orange peel for bright citrus oils or a Luxardo cherry for a rich, indulgent finish.
Recipe Note
Pair with a plate of caviar-topped blinis or truffle popcorn for the ultimate cocktail-hour experience.
