The Lion's Mane, also known as Pom Pom or Bearded Tooth, is a unique mushroom that grows on the trunks of dead hardwood trees, particularly oak. It has been used for centuries in East Asian medicine. When cooked correctly, these mushrooms have a texture similar to crab meat and a fibrous outer layer. A popular way to prepare them is by sautéing them in olive oil or making crab cakes, and they can be enjoyed all year round.
