King Trumpet mushrooms are large, meaty mushrooms with a robust umami flavor reminiscent of scallops or lobster. They have a firm and chewy texture that holds up well in various cooking methods, making them suitable for grilling, roasting, or sautéing.

Grilled King Trumpet Mushrooms 

Ingredients:

  • 4 King Trumpet mushrooms, cleaned and sliced lengthwise

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Lemon wedges for serving 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.

  2. In a bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, fresh thyme, salt, and pepper.

  3. Brush the King Trumpet mushroom slices with the olive oil mixture, ensuring they are coated evenly.

  4. Place the mushroom slices on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until grill marks appear and they are tender.

  5. Remove from the grill and serve with lemon wedges for a burst of freshness.
