Fresh Oyster Mushrooms

These oyster mushrooms are found growing year-round on stumps, logs, and trunks of deciduous trees. Some have a cap that resembles a shell, with a semicircular to elongated shape and a velvety texture ranging from whitish to grayish to tan. They are most delicious when prepared by frying or sautéing.

Ensure you wash the mushrooms thoroughly and cook them completely before eating. Avoid consuming them raw.
